Chris Alston’s Chassisworks has recently launched new billet V8 and LS engine mounts for first generation Camaros and Firebirds. These new mounts offer a much stronger than stock mounting location for many modern drivetrains. To compliment their engine mounts, direct-fit tubular crossmember sets are also available to mount over a dozen popular automatic or manual transmissions.

Billet Chevy LS and Small Block Motor Mounts

Chassisworks billet-aluminum motor mounts and steel frame adapters enable direct bolt-in installation of Chevrolet V8 and modern LS engines in ’67-69 Camaros and ’68-74 Novas with stock subframes. The mounts feature durable poly-urethane bushings and maintain correct engine position and drivetrain angle. Satin and polished finishes are available with pricing starting at $319 for complete mount and adapter sets.

Direct Fit Transmission Crossmembers

To accommodate popular drivetrain combinations, direct bolt-in, tubular transmission crossmembers are available for g-Machine equipped or factory-subframe GM F-body (1967-69 Camaro and Firebird) and X-body (1968-74 Nova, Apollo, Omega, and Ventura) vehicles. Crossmembers are 1-1/4 x .120″-wall steel, dual-tube, fully enclosed structures that are stronger than OEM stamped designs and rigid enough for the vehicle to benefit from stiff polyurethane transmission mounts. Tubes are bent to provide 3″ dual-exhaust clearance and to correctly position the mount for each model transmission.

Direct-fit transmission crossmembers are available for Turbo 350, Turbo 400, Powerglide, 700R4, 200-4R, 4L60, 4L65E, Muncie 4-speed, Richmond 5- or 6-speed, and many Tremec 5- or 6-speed transmissions.
