Cold air intake systems have been around for years on modern vehicles, but classic muscle car owners have been left to fabricate systems on their own. Spectre Performance, a leader in creating high performance air filters, cold air intakes and automotive accessories, is looking to change that with its modular intakes and bolt-on cold air kits for muscle cars. Spectre’s newest kit of the ProFab™ Race Pak Muscle Car Cold Air Intake designed specifically for 1969-81 GM F-Bodies.

Spectre 1967-1981 Camaro Cold Air Kit

Classic muscle cars, with their large radiators and exposed headers, have been forced to make do with engine compartment air temperatures that can exceed 200-degrees. Extensive dyno and track testing has shown that every 10-degree reduction in incoming air temperature can create a 1.5 – 2.0% gain in both torque and horsepower.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 Camaro Cold Air Kit

The Speed By Spectre Race Pak pulls cold air from the front fenderwells, radically reducing air inlet temperatures and increasing engine efficiency and power. On the dyno, the Speed By Spectre 1970 Camaro produced a 7.4% increase in horsepower and a 8.1% increase in torque.

Spectre 1967-1981 Camaro Cold Air Kit

The Speed By Spectre Race Pack utilizes a 14-inch round high-flow, re-useable hpR™ air filter element that is backed by an unlimited lifetime warranty. Enclosed in a spun aluminum housing and fed by dual mandrel bent aluminum intake tubes, all necessary brackets, adapters, hardware and complete step-by-step instructions are included to make installation easy.
