The key to building the ultimate handling machine is starting with a solid foundation. From show cars to race cars, pulling out your factory subframe, grinding off four decades worth of grime and corrosion and then refinishing can be a time consuming hassle. Now Hotchkis Performance has a solution: a complete, pre-assembled and track tested bolt-in subframe system that arrives on a pallet ready to bolt into your 1967-69 Camaro/Firebird and 1968-74 Nova.
I got a sneak peak at this new assembly a few months ago and can tell you this thing is sweet! The system starts with a brand new high quality steel subframe manufactured for Hotchkis by AMD – the same company that builds frames for major OEM manufacturers. The Hotchkis subframe features factory-style construction for a show-ready look, but has been reinforced for strength and to provide a solid jack point on the lower crossmember. Hotchkis then strips, media blasts and powdercoats the subframe semi-gloss black for maximum durability.
Next, skilled technicians install a complete Hotchkis suspension system, including tubular upper and lower control arms, 2″ or 3″ drop sport coil springs, a Hotchkis 1-1/8″ tubular front sway bar, Hotchkis premium steering kit, Hotchkis heavy duty tie rod sleeves, a new powdercoated center link, pitman arm, new stock style spindles, a GM 500 Series 14:1 ratio steering box and Hotchkis HPS1000 Bilstein shocks. Hotchkis Handle Bar chassis braces are optional.
Every Subframe Assembly is assembled by hand using the highest quality domestic hardware. They are then bolted to a pallet and shipped ground freight straight to your door. The result is a tuned, balanced system that provides incredible handling, traction and driver control. Bolt-in installation with no vehicle modifications makes the install a breeze, and the your car will look fantastic thanks to a brand new suspension setup and sleek lowered stance while maintaining a comfortable yet sporty ride. It’s the perfect solution for Camaro, Firebird and Nova owners looking for the track-tuned system.
